  • Christmas Advent Calendar!

    It's that time of the year again where we will be starting our Annual Christmas Advent Calendar. Bring in your donations to the food bank (food, clothing, money donations) and with each donation you will be awarded ballots. Each day in December we will draw a name and that winner will receive an awesome prize! We will also be having different events throughout the month for your chance to earn more ballots. Below is a list of events you can participate in!

    *Daily Christmas trivia posted on the Jake Break at 8:30. The first person to email Karla at [email protected] the correct answer will receive a bonus ballot

    *Christmas photo booth set up starting December 1st for the month - take a photo with Santa!

    *Weekly Food Bank donation challenge - the department that donates the most items for the week will each receive 5 additional ballots in time for the Friday draw

    *Friday December 2nd - Santa's cookie toss game - additional ballots to be won by participants and winners

    *Monday December 5th - Christmas bake off - bring in your homemade dessert masterpieces to share and earn 5 additional ballots. The winners as determined by vote will have even more ballots added

    Friday December 9th - Gingerbread house contest - teams will be given the supplies to build their house and winners will earn 5 additional ballots each

    *Monday December 12th - Office/desk decoration judging - decorate your office as a group or your desk as an individual for your chance to win 5 additional ballots

    *Friday December 16th - National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day - participate by wearing your ugliest Christmas attire and receive 5 ballots. 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be chosen and those winners will receive additional ballots

    *Monday December 19th - Candy Cane Limbo Challenge - additional ballots to be won by participants and winners

    We hope you are all able to participate in your own way, have some fun and help us support our local food banks so families in our communities can have a wonderful Christmas!

  • Driver Trainer Required- 2 Positions Available!

     

    Location: Hagersville, ON and Oakville, ON

    • Trains and coaches new and existing drivers on use of applicable tools, equipment, and regulations for a company operating in Canada and the United States
    • Facilities new hire orientations and re-certification training
    • Conducts road tests with new drivers and re-certification road evaluations with existing drivers
    • Facilitates training to new and existing drivers on OHS, DOT, NSC and other Safety and Compliance areas
    • Trains and coaches any high risk drivers ensuring consistent and constructive intervention
    • Conducts re-training as required following collisions, near misses, incidents and/or negative work habit observations
    • Schedules and conducts on-road evaluations and observations to evaluate driver knowledge, operating behaviors, and compliance with regulations; follows up/re train when deficiencies are identified
    • Supports all divisions (Domestic, Multi-Axle & U.S. Divisions) with driver training
    • Works with safety department to ensure compliance standards are tracked and documented, including driver file compliance and data entry
    • Electronic Logs: trains new drivers on e-log use, conducts regular e-log audits, follows up with triggered events, monitors e-log violations and compliance
    • Assists the Risk Manager with site visits and other duties as directed

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Class AZ driver’s license
    • Exceptional people and communication skills
    • Grade 12 education
    • The ability to coach, mentor and provide constructive criticism
    • Problem solving skills
    • Basic computer skills (MS Office - Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word)
    • TDG Instructor certification is considered an asset
    • Knowledge in Hours of Service, axle weights and load securement regulations

  • Operations Manager- Domestic Operations

    Contrans Flatbed Group has an exciting opportunity open up in their Domestic Operations group located in Hagersville, Ontario. The Operations Manager will plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate and is responsible for the operations and budget of the domestic operations group.  This group includes trucks operating out of our facility in Mississauga, Ontario.   This position is responsible for the continued growth and profitability of their division and working with our core customers and drivers to ensure a positive customer service experience. 

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • Several years of progressively responsible experience in transportation operations or logistics or similar environment
    • Extensive knowledge of transportation safety regulations including hours of service and an electronic log work environment
    • Experience in working with customers establishing rates, relationships and customer service
    • Extensive experience in planning to ensure efficiencies and profitability in our trucking operations
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Progressive experience dealing with staff , drivers, shunt crews and human resource issues – a lead by example approach
    • Above average verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills, time management, organization and planning abilities
    • Exceptional analytic problem solving and decision making skills
    • Above average computer skills

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Dispatch the activities of staff including dispatching and planning
    • Monitor operations to ensure they comply with the organizations safety culture and policies
    • Develop and implement profit improvement and change management plans
    • Review divisional profit and loss statements and provide swift change to ensure the profitability of the division
    • Responsible to resolve any customer complaints and develop customer relations
    • Responsible for your driving force
