We hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!!!
Happy Birthday Pieter (Tri)! Enjoy your day!
This past weekend, we participated in the Haldimand-Norfolk REACH Trucks to Touch event. Although Saturday's event in Simcoe ended up being cancelled last minute, we still got to show off our equipment to a bunch of kids on Sunday in Cayuga. Just under 100 kids were in attendance, braving the cold and the rain, and having fun playing truck driver in our units. A big thank you goes out to Kota Kinniburgh, Brad Barquest, Dave Coolen, Lloyd Delottinville, and Dave Williams for bringing the equipment, showing the kids the trucks and signing autographs! We really appreciate your participation.
We are very excited to announce that the driver room is now officially ready for use! A number of drivers had requested we put in a space just for them; you spoke, we listened. Alot of thought and consideration was put into making this room a comfortable and inviting place for our drivers to relax and work in when they are in the office.
See photos of the completed room in Event Photos, Driver Room Re-Vamp.
We hope you enjoy it!!!
A few weeks ago we had asked internal staff, shunters, mechanics, drivers and owner operators to participate in some focus sessions that we were holding with an outside consultant Herb Roseneck. Our intent for these sessions were to determine what we are doing right as an organization and what areas we need to improve on. I want to thank each of you who participated in these sessions and provided your candid feedback to us.
I want to let you know where we are at. We have received a copy of the consolidated report from Herb. It is a very detailed and thorough report so I will admit I have reviewed the report a few times in order to absorb the amount of information that we now have before us. Our next step will be for Herb to spend some time with my senior management team reviewing some of the key findings. This meeting is happening on Monday, October 29th, 2012.
The next step after that will be to put together a summary of the key findings for all of you to review along with an action plan of what issues we are going to be looking at. We will also determine how to roll all of this information out to the organization so that everyone is informed as to what we are doing or not doing, why and when.
Again, thank you to everyone that participated. Our job now is to follow through and make sure your efforts result in tangible changes for the organization.
Brent (Tri) celebrates his birthday tomorrow, October 27. We hope you have a great day!
