We are excited to announce a 3 month trial we will be participating in with our customer Jennmar, who are located in Sturgeon Falls. This trial will involve having a Contrans Flatbed Group employee embedded in their organization to handle all inbound and outbound freight & logistical needs. During this period we will gather raw data from them and examine it for any efficiencies. If successful, a Contrans employee will remain there long-term, with an eye to repeating that process in other Jennmar plant locations in Canada and potentially the US.
This endeavor is a big step for the Transportation Solutions Group as it incorporates three aspects of our business; Facility management, Freight analysis & consulting, and Brokerage.
Scott MacFarlane will be the initial person taking on the role in Sturgeon Falls, with Paul Jakubicek participating in gathering all the data and organizing into documents for review. We would like to wish the best of luck to Scott and Paul in this new venture.
ACI information has been posted in the 'Training Corner' for reference. US drivers, please make sure you are aware of the new procedures as it becomes mandatory November 1, 2012. If you have any questions, please contact your driver trainer or dispatch.
